We had two batteries on part of the trip. However for most of the trip we used one battery that was quite large and had to actually be trailered. We charged every night. Our average distance per day was 60 but we also had some 80-mile days. When we used two batteries it was usually to get us across a two-day stretch that did not have any place to stop and charge
